My favorite all-time book is Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. I read the book for the first time as a high school sophomore. The novel jolted me from my insulated, safe world and forced me to face the harsh realities of what it was like for people of color growing up in the South. I enjoyed teaching the book for many years. I re-read it once a year and always find something new.
